Hate Has No Place Here
Salim joined other elected officials to the editor of the Seattle Times on March 23,2021, speaking out against anti-Asian hate crimes. The issue is personal for him.
In July 2020, Salim joined the Mercer Island City Council in summarily proclaiming that hate crimes have no place on Mercer Island.
